So many times we have been asked,

“How do you guys do it?”

This page will hopefully answer that question….

How we Made it Through…

Thumb on Forehead

The simple truth and complete answer to that question is because of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a never-ending hope (Romans 5:5) that our desire for Harris to live would be blessed.

We pray continually for Harris.  For his life, for his brain, for his eyes, for his hearing, for his body to work in the way God created our bodies to work.

The day he was born God gave the word, “He shall live and not die” to us through the Papa’s step-mother.  We received it and believed it.  How could a life that moved with such vigor in my womb die?  He was and is a Fighter!

He will be coming home soon and tonight I was talking to my husband about all the prayers the Lord has answered over the last 5 1/2 months on Harris’ behalf.

– He’s alive

– He is healthy

– His brain is normal

– His sight is good

– His hearing is good

– His motor ability is incredible

– He is vital and strong

I wish for anyone reading this letter to sit back a few minutes and think about what our son has overcome.  The doctors all said he would die.  No if’s, and’s, or but’s about it.  He was simply too small to survive.  He had terrible infections that are killing babies twice and three times his size.  He survived a perforated bowel (I heard the docs talking about a baby whose bowel perfed and they had to take out almost it’s entire intestinal tract – they said that he was probably going to die of starvation or else be on TPN his entire life) with no loss of intestines.  He had two laser eye surgeries that were successes and he has perfect eyesight.  He has had 5 surgeries, 4 of which were MAJOR surgery and came through them wonderfully.  He has BronchoPulmonary Displasia and got off the ventilator at a time when noone thought he would.

Is all this just good luck?   No.  The Truth is that God answers prayer and believe me, people were and are praying for Harris.  We know of people in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Australia, Canada, New Zeeland, Japan, Ohio, Nevada and England.  There are literally 100’s of people praying for Harris to survive and to be a strong and healthy child.  God truly does answer prayer.

The bible says that Christ came in this world to be a sacrifice to save us from our sins, to forgive our debts and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  He came to heal the sick also (Matt. 4:23).  Jesus loves us and He loves you too.  He died on the cross a brutal death and 3 days later rose from the dead conquering Hell and the grave.  “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).  He desires to set you free from your sins and hopelessness and give you a hope and a future that can only come from Him.  All other ways to find “hope” and “happiness” are short-lived with no root or stability.  In Christ, we have an eternal assurance of a hope and joy that is never-ending.  The gift He offers is Salvation.  A belief that Christ Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead; that He will forgive our sinful life/past and make us clean and new.  A simple prayer:

“Dear Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God; I believe

that you died for my sins and rose from the dead 3 days

later; I ask you to forgive my sins and to cleanse my

heart and life;  Lord Jesus, come into my heart and

make me your child.  Amen.”

If you prayed this prayer with your whole heart you are now a Christian, your sins are forgiven, and you are clean and pure.  The stuff from your past, even 10 minutes ago, is gone!  Jesus loves you!  Now is the time for you to find a church that teaches from the Bible the Word of God.  A church that believes in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.  If you have a Christian friend or relative call them now and ask for their help in learning about Jesus.  He has so much to give you.

Righteousness  –  Peace  –  Joy  –  Happiness  –  Hope
