The Latest Excitement

It’s been quite a long time since we’ve had anything traumatic happen with Harris.  Yesterday we got one of those calls no parent wants to get.  Mama got a call from the school nurse informing her that Harris had fallen and had stopped breathing for 30 – 40 seconds.  When Mama got there Harris was still quite shaky and weak from the ordeal.  I met up with them at the hospital and at that time Harris had totally switched and was hyperactive which is uncharacteristic of his normal compliant behavior.

They did a CT scan and blood work at the ER and didn’t turn up any cause.  It could simply be that he fell and it knocked the wind out of him and his lungs weren’t strong enough to breathe before he passed out.  Or from the description of the ordeal from his teacher Harris could have had some sort of seizure.

The next step is to set up an appointment with a pediatric neurologist and do some further tests.  In the meantime we need to watch Harris close and most importantly pray.

Thank you all for your continued prayer and support!  Every day God gives us the strength to carry on.

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)
